How to Add Projects to Your LinkedIn Profile
Adding projects (like MindSumo challenges) to your LinkedIn profile is a brilliant way to show employers that you take initiative and apply your skills outside the classroom. Why lose out on an opportunity to show employers what you know? MindSumo challenges can easily add relevant industry experience to any LinkedIn profile. Since LinkedIn is a major source of information for recruiters looking for talent, make sure you invest the time to update this important channel.
In this post you’ll find the 5 easy steps to get that project onto your profile. While you’re at it, consider adding it to your resume as well!
1. Add a Section to Your Profile
Go to “Edit Profile” and click on the “View More” button to see all the profile sections available.
2. Select Projects
Click on the Projects tile.
3. Enter a project Name and Date
For a MindSumo Challenge, we suggest writing the title and company in the Name field. E.g. “How would you improve sock elasticity? by Nike”
4. Add a URL to Your Project
This is hugely important because it gives potential employers and recruiters the opportunity to view your work! For a MindSumo Challenge, link directly to your solution.
5. Add a Description
Tell others what the project was about. Usually 2 sentences is plenty. Here’s a sample – “Participated in a Nike project on MindSumo. Proposed a unique synthetic material to improve elasticity and reduce wear over long periods of time.”
LinkedIn isn’t the only place where you should feature your MindSumo experience. Make sure you add it to your resume, cover letters, and interviews using this guide.
