Trends in robotics or Beep bop boop beep beep!
Earlier this week we shared a video about Mili-Motein, the protein-like robot that can transform into almost any shape. Today there are more and more robots being created to serve more and more purposes. Robots can mimic human facial expressions, drive cars, and even DJ while they help around the house.
While all of these new robotic devices are exciting, one has to wonder when enough will be enough. Is it safe to assume that autonomous cars will replace taxi cab drivers in the years to come? Statistics so far have shown that autonomous cars are safer to travel in than those driven by actual human beings. We can see this trend taking effect already when we look at the way Redbox and other DVD rental Kiosks have ousted Blockbuster and company.
Do you think that robots will take over too much of the job space currently occupied by humans? What will happen to the people who are put out of work by robo-competition? Send your answers in to firstname.lastname@example.org.
